How do you like the Springfield Armory 'Operator' kit? I've been contemplating it as a possible for putting a WA .45 back in my stable. I normally despise rails on these guns, but this one doesn't look half bad.

RE: The Official 1911 Thread
PGC is my favorite metal body manufacturer. Fit and finish is top notch. I got mine from BoomArms, I don't think I have seen them anywhere else in stock (and mine might not be anymore). They also make them with round trigger guards, but I really liked the square look. The checkering is extremely aggressive. Where a normal frame has indented checkering, the Oprator has the checkering on top of the normal lines, so you really feel it. Almost too much for bare hands, plus I haven't seen another one out there (yet).

I'll be back into the 1911 fold someday. I just want to find the 'right' one. Not an easy thing to do when it comes to the WA line...

Tokyo Marui M1911-A1
- Pro-Win (PGC) Metal Slide & Frame for Marui M1911-A1, DX Version w/ 150% Recoil Spring and Piston Head
- Pro-Win (PGC) Metal Outer Barrel (x2) & Rear Sight (x2)
- NINE BALL SAS Type Threaded Outer Barrel
- King Arms A.A.C. Evolution .45 Silencer
- Strider/Simonich G10 Gunner Grips (Blk)
- Pachmayr Signature Grips

Bottom two are what it looks like now, but I just ordered a pair of Springfield Armory Cocobolo Cross Cannon grips from the factory (thanks Colin) and once they get here, I don't think I'll be buying much else for this pistol.

What happened to the Gunner's? I really like that look on a classic for some reason. Looks good man.

RE: The Official 1911 Thread
Thanks.

The G10's are very nice, I put them on once in a while, but they're kind of rough and sweat leaves stains on them (which have to be cleaned off every now and again) so I only use them when I'm wearing gloves. That, and I like the look of wood grips on that particular pistol for some reason :P

RE: The Official 1911 Thread
Since we don't have a Latest Acquisitions thread, these are best suited for here...

RE: The Official 1911 Thread
Oh! You got a STICKER from SA? Sweet!

I've also acquired my base gun for my 1911 build, but I haven't taken any shots of it yet. It's, like, all stock and stuff...ewwww..
