so my banner says i have 1 new message and 6 total messages, but when i look at my inbox i only have 5 messages (which have all been replied to) and one message in my sent box. now, i went through and clicked on and opened every single message in both my inbox and my sent box (as well as checked to make sure that i dont have any messages in an other folder) and it still says i have 1 new message, wtf?
did you refresh the screen? works fine for me.
Try logging out, and then logging back in again. It could be a cookie issue. I've seen it happen, but it's pretty rare.
All I know is that thing counts both messages received and messages sent. And even if you've deleted all your messages, it'll still say you have them, because they're in your trash. Try deleting all the messages you don't need, then deleting them from the trash, then logging out and in again.
The "1 new message" thing is what makes me think it's a cookie issue...but then again, I've never deleted an unread PM, so it's entirely possible it is simply just his trash needing to be emptied.
no, i checked my other folders (like the trash can and they were empty). i think i have it figured out. i just realized that it probably means that i have one new message since i last logged on or that day. because it didnt say that the message was unread, it just said it was new, so thats probably it. thanks for the input!
Okay....I have this problem now, after I PMed crackisbad. He spread the virus to me >:O. Anyway, it says 1 new message, 0 unread, and 8 total. Huh? I only have 3 PMs...
that's strange.. I notice I have total 68. Where is that number come from?
thats probably your total PMs including your 'sent items' and 'trash.' Because it automatically sends a copy of all PMs that you send to your 'sent items' folder, and when you delete something, it doesnt delete it completely, it sends it to your 'trash' folder
I don't have 68 PM... the only think I can think of is the 68 pm include database that's not been purged or reindexed.
