After buying a ProG4 Infinity slide I decided to do a little weight comparison on the three slides I have for my Open class gun.
Supposedly the Davidson Custom Brazo slide is made of 7075 Al whereas the SD and ProG4 slides are 6061
Shooters Design Limcat - 91.6g
ProG4 Infinity - 85.2g
Davidson Custom Brazo - 82.4g
I believe now that the Davdison slide really is 7075 because 7075 has less Al content than 6061. I may have to shell out for a ProG4 Brazo ported slide to obtain maximum weight reduction.
Another note, the recoil rod bushing for the SD slide is steel whereas the Davidson and ProG4 are Al.
SD bushing - 16.5g
ProG4 bushing - 6.3g
Quite a huge weight difference there, as expected.
With the ProG4 Infinity slide and bushing, I was able to pull off a 6.66rps test using a Madbull chrono. I did triple taps to see how fast a ROF I could achieve.
