TASF 1st April Postal Match
Setup: This postal match is based on the AAPS Speed Target drill. Three AAPS "A" paper targets are set up in-line, 18 to 24 inches apart (measured center-to-center), with the middle target centered 13 feet in front of the competitor. The center of each target is approximately four to five off the ground. A stop plate is positioned two feet in front of the right-most target with its center approximately two to three feet off the ground.
Start: The competitor begins facing the targets in surrender position. The pistol is unloaded in battery on the ground 1 foot in front of the shooter. Mag loaded 6 inches to the left (or right) of pistol. On the start signal, the competitor drops to one knee picks up the pistol and mag, load and make ready. Fires two shots, in the 1 knee kneeling position, into the “A/C” zone of each target, engaging targets in any order. The competitor then stands up and fires two more shots into the “A/C” zone of each target and then shoots the stop plate (13 shots altogether). The score for this drill is the time (in seconds to the nearest 0.01 second). Any shots that land outside the “A/C” zone of any target, failure to fire two shots at a target during each sequence, or firing more than two shots at a target during each sequence, results in a "no score" for the drill. There is no limit to the number of shots that can be made on the stop plate.
