All I know is I finally purchased another AEG and it is useless for this....man I am always caught out.

BUT I do think finding the necessary range for me is going to be an issue anyway. I "could" run around in my back yard, but with dynamic movement and shooting, I might actually shoot over the fences.

Oh, I bought the TM AK74M so the gun shakes (OK, recoils some) and since the AK has that notch I am going to be useless when it comes to mag changes.

Just starting the excuses now....
only AR mag drops freely right? all the other mags needs to be pulled out, and grab a new one then replace....

Yes the AR does drop freely, but unfortunately the mag release is not well placed for speed reloading. You would probably want to construct a custom extender.

Even so, you can still get pretty fast reloads on AR's and MP5s, and I even had a customer at my range that could reload his P90 VERY fast.(He had a great custom mag pouch well positioned for quick reloads) The AEGs that are probably worst on reload speed are the AUG and FAMAS,
There are techniques to reload an AK very quickly. With an MP5 on the other hand, I have been instructed always to lock the bolt back before inserting a fresh magazine. That's really time-consuming compared to any other weapon with a detachable magazine.

Generally regarding AEGs in practical shooting, I find the lack of trigger feel and the delay very disturbing and problematic. The TM M14 has a spring-loaded ball bearing to provide a "breaking" trigger action. The G&G L85 has that as well as a pre-cocking action. The TM PSG-1 has a pre-cocking feature as well.

For practical pistol shooting you can pick a TM Glock, Hi-Capa or 1911 out of the box and you're ready to go, but with AEGs the difference in performance is bigger, and the gap widens significantly when they are upgraded. I can easily see the cost of a "race-AEG" get out of hand, but no sensible way to make limits to control it.

This is the reason why in my ETAPSS events, I placed no restrictions on AEGs and had no sub-classes. Truth be told, I only added the AEG class as an option so I could get more customers to try it. But I figured that AEG customizations would be hard to monitor, and if people wanted to go to the time, work and expense to outfit their AEG for high speed PS, I would just try to convince them to direct their effort towards a new or custom pistol.
"I only added the AEG class as an option so I could get more customers to try it."

That's the only reason we put this section here.
