I have been dying to buy a Chrono since I started my airsoft business. I want something that's small and and able to calculate both FPS and RPS. I was planning to buy the Guarder Chrono last year when visiting Hong Kong but Redwolf refuse to give me a discount so heck with them. I just keep waiting until something better shows up.

Well that moment arrived when MadBull announced they are releasing their version of a chronograph. Since then I have been bugging Jag Precision every week to check when the chrono arrived. And finally I got it last Thursday.

The package contain the following:

- Madbull Chronograph
- a funnel looking thingy
- 9 volt battery
- Instruction paper

On first glance the chrono is very solid looking. Aluminum body with a cool blue tint. Big digital read out for old folks like me, on-off power button and mode selection button on the side. Very simple and straight forward design.

There is also screw hole on the bottom so you can mount it securely on your favorite camera tripod. Very handy to have.

Not only this chrono is small. It's got a self-supply internal sensor light source so you can use it indoor and outdoor. Daytime or nighttime.

It also have a auto shut off after 4 minutes if not use.

On Saturday I took it out for our DSAT open game and everyone was lining up just to see the result of their guns.

Using the chrono is extremely simple. First shoot the bbs through the funnel looking thingy. By default it will display the FPS. you can then press the mode seletion button and toggle between the following function.

- FPS: Velocity / Feet per Second (Power on default)
- NPS: Velocity / Meter per Second
- BPS: N/A [if data shown, it is previous value]
- BPN: N/A [if data shown, it is previous value]
- 0.20: Energy (Joule)
- 0.23: Energy (Joule)
- 0.25: Energy (Joule)
- 0.30: Energy (Joule)
- 0.33: Energy (Joule)
- 0.43: Energy (Joule)
- 0.89: Energy (Joule)

Able to calculate Joule with various BB weight is very useful, I think the Guarder chrono don't even have this function.

Accuracy seems to be spot on as well, I tested a TM stock gun and it's showing 280 fps average using .20g bb's, I know my KWA M4 shooting at 345 fps using .25g and it's showing the same on the Madbull as well.

Right now I'm totally in love with this little gadget. For $99 retail its must buy for anyone who work on guns. The construction is solid. Easy to use and will calculate everything you want to know about BB's FPS, BPS and Joules. Two thumbs up for Madbull!!!
Nifty, nice review. I don't quite have the armory that's required to need one of these, but maybe I can convince the guy at my local airsoft shop to pick one up.
Nice, gonna have to pick one of these up then...

<3 the change in your avatar Render ^^

Santa hat bandwagon dude!
If you want one you better hurry.... it's a very limited run. Like most Madbull stuff.
By and by, what type of tripod is that? Sorry if you mentioned it in the review, I'm missing it.
How was the display in bright sunshine? That was the problem with the Guarder (even though I rarely use mine outside). I also did some editing on your review on ASB and approved it.
Thanks Ben, you know I'm terrible on spell check and grammar. Any help is appreciated.

As for the tripod I think I got it at Fry's... any standard camera tripod should work.

The display did alright during daytime. I can see it. but it's still best put it behind a sun light. Notice that in my picture? The sun is on my right.
FYI. .I've seen someone on Ebay who sells a Madbull looking knock-off.. shoot .I can't find a pic. .but it's almost IDENTICAL to Madbull's . .different color and packaging. .

then there's these:

How are those knockoffs? I really need a chrono, but want to hold off for a Madbull if I can just find one locally...
