It seems like Trader's admin/founder Colin may have abandoned ship. I'm sure he has good reasons since maintaining a website does require alot of time to be invested and as we all know there aren't enough hours in a day to handle life let alone an internet forum. The only active mod on here is the4th and while he has limited powers he does a fantastic job keeping this place clean of spambots. It's tough being a one man show, and it's even tougher when you have limited tools at your disposal to do the job. It pains me to see my favorite forum go to shit and I'm sure we can all see the trend coming a mile away. Seeing plastic guns in bartertown makes me cringe..I wanna buy them all so I can dump lighter fluid all over and burn them to the ground so the seller can delete his post.....

What do you guys think about the idea of opening a new site and calling it http://www.AirsoftTraders.com. We can copy the exact forum layout, colors etc... have the same laxed rules and have all of the current members register on there. This way we can appoint moderators and give them more global forum powers. We can keep the site spam free, control the garbage and have everything running smoothly
i am not colin but I say, go for it
100% pro, I wish Traders remains the place to be for the special stuff, the most awesome custom as guns and not for springers and clones!

A tight community where only those people come with knowledge, rare parts & guns and where you can trust the people who you are dealing with.
+1 hard on this one.
sounds good....
Thank you for that Plastik! I have complete faith in the new forum and I think the seniors are ready for it!

I think Traders is open for new members, but it is a shame to see that so many new members just come here to post stupid classifieds and don't really contribute to the Traders A-level...
Hopefully new members will understand that this is a different kind of forum than ASF, Barracks or even Arnies...
I don't know if the founder has necessarily abandoned us. I've been here for 11 months, and although it's true I rarely ever see him post, I'm sure he's still around. He must still be paying for the site to be up, no? I mean, Traders is already an established site with plenty of good members. I may not post a lot, but I'm ridiculously guilty to lurking and learning. I've learned more here about GBBs in 11 months than I have in the four years at ASF and other forums. I support your idea to an extent, but why abandon an already good site? Colin must be on at least once a month or so, so why not mail him to give one of you senior members full access to moderator controls?
I pm'd him so we'll see. the4th has tried getting in touch with him in the past and hasn't been successful.

anyways
