Not sure if this belongs in this section but here goes:

Saturday I was out with the (great) DSAT team playing some excellent airsoft games when halfway thru the day the gears on my MP5 stripped......

Now my problem is.... i'm a complete airsoft technical noob and have no idea what kind of gears i need to get or what type of mechbox version i have.

So if anyone can help me in choosing what gear set i need to get in order to get my gun up and running (and more durable if possible) i would be very grateful.

I'm not that familiar with the MP5's, but I'm pretty sure you've got a version 2 gearbox in that. It'll be pretty easy to get another set of gears to fix your problem, but unless you're familiar with doing the work associated with gear replacement, you're going to want to get the help of someone with some experience.
