I would like to make a suggestion for the commerce section. The 60 minute time allowance for editing posts, in my opinion, makes the commerce section much more cluttered because people can't simply edit there original post to add new items or information. Instead, they either have to post another reply with the new item or information, or make an entirely new thread just for that item. I think that unlimited post edit in the commerce section would help get rid of some of the clutter.

thanks,
Street
Yeah but if you think about it if someone is modifying the original post they're going to bump their thread anyways right? This way dead threads will get buried faster.
The way it is right now you have to "bump" the thread everytime you update. If you update a couple times in a day you have now bumped 2+ times in one day. Make the posts completely editable but only allow 1 bump per 24 hours.
You could always just not post everytime you drop the price 5 dollars or return a fucking PM>

Just put a OBO on it and leave it be.

The price drops I made in the post you are referring to were much larger than $5, they were $25, which IMO is a substantial drop that could make a buyer think twice about giving an offer. Also, I only put that I replied to pms once, and it was after receiving several messages. I was just letting people know that I was active in there quest for any information regarding the sale.

Had I been able to edit, I could have simply updated the price on the original post, not causing a bump to the top.
It's annoying. And I was mainly referring to the bumps in which you announce that PMs have been replied to. That is a bump that elsewhere would get the thread suspended.

I've never seen so many bumps in that amount of time in my life.

You're why Arnies has to be patrolled with a comb.

Cut it out if you want to be a functioning member here, cause this isn't arnies. This forum is held to a higher regard.

Fin.
I only bumped once that pms had been replied to, and actually on most other forums that have a regular commerce section that is a normal thing.

You are missing the point, I was not posting to get "bumped" to the top. I would have much rather just edited my previous post(s). It would make my sale thread much less cluttered with more condensed information rather than a possible buyer having to look through post after post to find the latest update.

Making posts infinitely editable would help EVERYONE. Editing a post does not bump the post, only allows you to add/change the post and then puts the last time the post was edited by the time of the original post.
Its a valid idea, and clearly needed.
A great debate, now if only we could find someone to make the change.
