I was thinking of making a WA GBB SPR project but would it be a good idea/possible. I do not know much about the WA GBB but it seemed like a pretty cool concept especially with the recoil and powerful gas. Do regular AEG M4 outer barrels work with the WA GBB or only specific outer barrels? Are there any other parts that would be required for a WA GBB rifle to become a SPR that are not out? Thanks for the help.
Go to gasguns.info and to their gallery section and look up a member "Hawk" 's SPR MK. 12. He had a parts list too...
I think shooting semi is the strong suit of these rifle. You can't really depend that much on the full-auto on any GBB. Aside from a specific hop-up kit that lets you use AEG barrel on a different hop system, you are stuck with WA GBB specific barrel. But there are longer barrel you can put in(from RA-tech for example). With something like NPAS too you can fine-tune your FPS to suit your BB and hop(at the expense of some recoil). I am shooting over 450 easy on a CQB barrel.
prepare to spend 1500 or so to make it as good as it should be...
but by all means, go for it, I've been planning one for quite some time now, just waiting to see other peoples results before i take the plunge... no sense in pioneering something someone else has already started... i'd rather be a copy cat with a good rifle the first time, than an innovator out twice as much what i should be ....
my advice, if thats what you want to do, keep saving your money, you'll need a fair amount, go to gasguns.info read Docs and Hawks threads.... theres plenty of ways to skin a cat, but a lot of WA aftermarket parts, from what i've researched, dont like to play along with other brands... its mix and match sorta....

aeg outer barrels definitely don't work... with that you're for the most part stuck with either a 14.5 or 20" outer barrel unless you want to do some cutting and rethreading.

where do they sell 20 inch outer barrels for the WA?
hm... ra tech maybe.... cant remember where i saw it....
you might can start with a GP m16a4 base.... its like 650 or so i believe, a great value, already has "upgraded" parts... and a 20" barrel...
it will be a good base to start with, imo.... also has a nice fn metal body.... cant complain there....
its only a little more than a WA m4 base.... well worth it imo... but then again i've never used one, so my opinion is purely speculative.
apache is right, your best bet is probably a G&P WOC. If you're looking for just the outer you can get the G&P a2 outer, they make steel & aluminum ones.
i agree with the above members. the spr is very possible, it's been done. if you decide to build off a stock WA M4, then be prepared to spend money like it is going out of style. a g&p WOC is a very good gun from what i have read. if you were to purchase a WOC then all you would have to do would be to tweak some of the externals and maybe some of the internals so that the gun looks and performs the way that you want it to.
i personally went the stock WA M4 route and built it from the ground up. after much tweaking and frustrations, i have a very capable rifle.
there are many companies that make upgraded parts. i personally recommend prime, ra-tech, and g&p (if you don't want to spend as much for stuff as prime).
as for using aeg parts, i think that pgc or some other company makes a hop up unit that allows for usage of an aeg inner barrel. i don't have any experience with it, but the guys at gasguns.info should have plenty of feedback on that particular part.
good luck on your build, i have been working on mine on and off for over a year. but, with enough tweaking and tuning (and cursing and frustrations) you will have an excellent rifle.
