I'm saving up for a 1911 prog4 build and I already mailed a bit with Captain KK
But for those who have a custom Prog4 build (the4thpower, wwkjc,..) can you answer maybe the following:

- Do I need to send him pics of the trades or does he know how they should look like if I use an existing 1911 model to replicate?

- What information do you send him how the gun should look (mine I just a 1911 SFA with some modifications) because I really want i to be like I described him

- I want the 1911 to be personalized with ny initials should I send him also the fond type or should I trust it to him?

- BTW anyone ever had a brass gun from him? (Mine is going to be brass) and how good is the choice of a brass gbb with steel parts (outer barrel, sights, ...)

Maybe some other advice ?
Thanks a lot guys
is it going to be a brass slide? because brass is heavy as hell
why brass? unless u are after the golden 1911 castor troy model, brass is heavy, try stainless

bascially, you sent him a pic and tell him all the little details, then he makes for you, but the waiting time is pretty long, at least in my case of the hybrid hi-capa slide/barrel

if you want your initials, use the correct font, make sure he knows which one

but my overall experience from prog4 is always good, he's easy to work with (meaning, you can ask for discounts)

that's my 2 cents anyways...
Sorry about the late reply ClockWork.

Have you submitted your pictures and specifics to Captian KK yet?

I agree with everyone else, don't use brass. It's heavy and SOFT. Especially against Steel.
I would use Steel if I were you. I know, steel is more expensive.

You need to be very specific with him.
You have to be a little acceptable to his situations etc.
He was supposed to make me some items and has not been able to complete.
I just posted pics of my custom slide and hybrid barrel.
That alone has taken 4 months now, and still not done, due to mistake.
He polished the sides of the slide before Black Oxiding. Now the finish on the sides of the slide look like shit. He's telling me it will take another 2 weeks to Re-Finish it.
I am buying other parts from him and he has offered me decent discounts, so that is good.

Just remember, anything truly custom will take a long time and patience.
But all in all Captain KK is great to deal with.
