Tanaka M629 Classic Deluxe 4". A little beat up, but it's a hell of a gun. I wish I had a longer model.

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the hopup or does it have fixed hop? Now bb's even with .30 fly everywhere...
/envy

I'm pretty sure all Tanaka 29/629s have fixed hopup. You can always remove the bucking entirely, FPS on GG is good enough that the range doesn't drop too much and accuracy is much improved. On my example you need to remove the front sight to reveal the screw needed to remove the barrel, although I'm not sure if the creation kit is the same.

Did you get that from Dan?

Lovely to see one of those Milan - how do you rate the finish on that M29 kit?
Well the finish is superb nice deep engraved markings and the chrome is quiet durable...

The weight is a bit of a downer the kit only weights 350grams...

If you can solve the Hopup problem I would be happy to send the M29 to you Matt so you can check it out!

Thanks for that info Milan, I have a brand new version 2 Tanaka M29 HW sitting here waiting for that kit to be released in black, not sure I can stray from the 1911 path though, he-he.

As much as I want to see your M29 in the flesh, I can probably tell you the root of your problem.

Quite simply .30gm BB's are too light for a Tanaka 'fixed HOP' M29, (the same went for my old 8" Colt Python).
The factory HOP setting is quite aggressive, in my experience if it's unrestricted (4mm exit) and you are using green gas, then use .43's. A friend of mine uses lighter BB's sometimes when it colder but I've seen them shoot skywards after the guns been an hour in his shoulder holster Tongue02 Rather than take chances stick with the heavier ammo for consistency. I have seen advice on the internet about trimming/melting the HOP, but as spares are none to frequent - just use the heavier BB's.

I was asked to get as close as I could to it, base gun is a Tanaka M500. Not to my personal taste but it is pretty unique.....

Nice Matt..

Well probably the hopup on those Tanaka's is quiet bizar... I had an m500 once but that one had adjustable hop (much better imho).

Well Prime is releasing new kits for Tanaka revolver series the just released M36/M60 and Bodyguard series.

I will mail Prime again to ask them for M29 kits in black blued finish.
Prime M36 kits in both black and silver will be about 720USD...

@ Dr X. no Dan had a Zeke kit on his m29 if I remember correctly mine comes from Boomarms. The Creation kit is much nicer than the Zeke kits, it is CNC'ed and has a nice chrome coat

Greetings
Nice Mobious!!!! Not my preference either but have to admit it looks slick.
I want a blued M29 kit so bad...

I'm not normally a fan of tacticool revolvers but that's pretty damn nice. Needs trades on the barrel though.
Laser engraving is only like 25 Bucks, that would be cool
